Mithi Gobindram Public School commemorated Gandhi Jayanti with a meaningful and inspiring special morning assembly on 1st October 2026, organised by the Sadbhaavana Club. The celebration provided an opportunity for students to reflect upon the lives, contributions and enduring legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji.
The programme commenced with Deep Prajwalan, Malyarpan and Guru Mantra, followed by a wonderful skit presented by the students of Grade I on Gandhiji’s Three Monkeys, conveying the timeless message of “See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Evil.”
A thoughtful presentation on Gandhiji’s values and teachings, along with a soulful bhajan, added a spiritual and reflective touch to the celebration.
A special message from the Principal, Mrs. Rekha Kewlani, reminded students that Gandhi Jayanti is not merely a day of remembrance but an occasion to understand the contribution of our national leaders and reflect upon the responsibilities of every citizen. She encouraged students to develop respect for the nation, value honesty and discipline and become responsible and compassionate individuals.
The celebration also featured a Prize Distribution Ceremony, honouring students for their achievements in various Hindi Diwas competitions, including Bookmark Making, Slogan Writing, Painting and Poster Making, as well as Bharat Ko Jaano.
Three students were also honoured with trophies received from HelpAge India in recognition of their significant contribution towards the welfare and well-being of elderly people, highlighting the values of empathy, care and respect for senior citizens.
As a special highlight, an MGPS student who secured the Second Prize in the Gandhi Ko Jaano competition proudly read aloud the letter written for the competition, sharing its inspiring message with the entire school.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by the Vice Principal, Mrs Divya Kriplani. She expressed her sincere appreciation to all the teachers whose dedication, cooperation and efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. She also shared simple and practical lessons from the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, encouraging students to practise values such as punctuality, simplicity, cleanliness, humility, discipline and responsibility in their everyday lives.
The programme concluded with the National Song and dispersal, leaving students with a renewed sense of patriotism, responsibility and respect for the values exemplified by our national leaders.
